As one of the few music industry professionals native to Nashville, Don Murry Grubbs’ heart has and always will belong to Music City, USA. Born in Nashville and raised on a farm 20 miles north of town, Don was brought up with the teachings of hard work ethics, honesty, loyalty and ‘can’t never could’ mentality.
From high atop Western Kentucky University’s “Hill,” Don graduated with a double-major in Broadcasting and Sociology and a minor in Criminology. With his wide-ranging knowledge in the world of broadcasting, Don knows exactly how to deal with the media on a daily basis.
Upon graduation, Don took a position with a local Nashville PR firm, handling day-to-day publicity for Ronnie Milsap, Tanya Tucker, Trent Tomlinson, Clay Walker, Lonestar and Crystal Gayle, among others. While with the company, he launched successful publicity campaigns for the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store music program with artists including Josh Turner, Merle Haggard, Alabama and Aaron Tippin.
“I always knew from day one I wanted to be involved in show business,” notes Grubbs on the topic of media promotion. “There’s something about putting smiles on others’ faces… it’s just satisfying!”
With invaluable experience under his belt, Don launched Absolute Publicity Inc. in 2009. Absolute Publicity prides itself on bringing total publicity satisfaction to its clientele, while also being able to bring personal warmth to each.
“Absolute Publicity is my idea of the ultimate ‘Mom and Pop’ business,” says Grubbs of the company. “You know how you can walk into your local family owned grocery store and feel right at home? Step into my office and I guarantee you’ll get that same satisfaction!”
