Nashville, Tenn. (June 10, 2022) — ALABAMA’s Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry are bringing the star power when they host this year’s “Fans Songwriters Showcase” on June 17 in Rainsville, Alabama. Owen and Gentry have enlisted Jamey Johnson, Gordon Mote,Ronnie Rogers and Frank J. Myers to perform alongside them at the event.
The writers’ round-style acoustic concert will be held at Northeast Alabama Community College inside the NACC Theatre. Proceeds will go to the June Jam Foundation, a non-profit, founded by ALABAMA, which distributes monies to other nonprofit organizations and service groups.
“We have always been thankful for our fans from day one, and they have stood by us for over 50 years,” explains Owen. “It’s exciting to see them up close and personal at our annual Fan Appreciation Week. Really looking forward to seeing everyone this year, especially since we have not been able to hold the event for the past couple of years.”
“Our Fan Appreciation Week is one of my favorite times of the year,” adds Gentry. “We have added a couple of new things this year and brought back the ‘Fans Songwriters Showcase,’ which is going to be very special.”
Tickets for the “Fans Songwriters Showcase” are $60, plus a $4 processing fee, and can be purchased online at nacc.edu or by calling the ALABAMA Fan Club at 256-845-1646. All seats are reserved and seating is limited.
The “Fans Songwriters Showcase” is part of ALABAMA’s annual Fan Appreciation Week. Teddy Gentry’s “Singing with the Stars” Talent Contest is set for June 16 at 7 p.m. at Northeast Alabama Community College, while ALABAMA will perform in Fort Payne at a Fan Appreciation Concert exclusively for pre-paid members of the ALABAMA Fan Club on June 18. Randy Owen’s Fandemonium on the Farm will close out the events on June 19.
“One new event we are doing is watching the hummingbirds’ migration from my front porch on Friday and Saturday morning,” says Gentry. “At my ‘Singing with the Stars’ Talent Contest, we are having a silent auction and the highest bidders will be able to watch the birds while I fix them a good ole southern breakfast on top of Lookout Mountain at my farm.”
About ALABAMA
It’s been over 50 years since Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry and Randy Owen left the cotton farms of Fort Payne, Alabama to spend the summer playing music in a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina bar called The Bowery. It’s a classic American tale of rags to riches. From humble beginnings picking cotton in the fields to international stars, ALABAMA went on to sell 80 million albums and change the face and sound of country music. Quality songs that have become the soundtrack for American life are the foundation for ALABAMA’s stellar career. The group introduced rock style guitars, lights, pyrotechnics and sounds to the country audience that has inspired many of today’s brightest country stars including Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. While their music continues to stand the test of time, their numbers and stats are beyond compare. Five decades since starting the band, ALABAMA has charted 43 #1 singles, including 21 #1 singles in a row, and have won dozens of CMA, GRAMMY®, and ACM Awards. They are members of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame and have their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition, they are world-class philanthropists who have raised millions of dollars for various charities.
