Nashville, Tenn. (September 25, 2024) — Outback Presents today announced the hiring of Joel Bachkoff as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Comedy. Bachkoff will work with the ever-expanding comedy business at Outback.
“Joel and I have worked together for over 20 years,” says Outback Presents co-CEO Brian Dorfman. “I couldn’t be more excited to have him join Outback’s booking department in this new capacity.”
Outback Presents co-CEO Michael Smardak is equally as thrilled to add Bachkoff to the company’s growing staff. “I’m thankful to be able to work with Brian and Joel who have dedicated their careers to comedy,” he says. “I look forward to working with Joel daily on our comedy business.”
Bachkoff’s tenured career includes decades worth of experience in the comedy industry. From his humble beginnings at the club level as an Assistant Manager to the Owner and Business Operator of multiple clubs, music and restaurant venues in Arizona, Florida, and California, Bachkoff has built his reputation as leader and innovator in the comedy space.
He has proven his ability to build long lasting relationships with comics by understanding their needs – which has led to numerous successful and long lasting business partnerships.
Helping to build his strong foundation of booking expertise, Bachkoff acknowledges the mentorship of Brian Dorfman – which is why he’s so passionate moving forward with Outback Presents.
In his new role, Bachkoff will continue his passion for helping to build the careers of comedy talent, propelling them from clubs to theaters and then arenas, ultimately paving the way for their continued growth and success.
Although Bachkoff has built a storied career, his top priority continues to be his beautiful wife and two young children, with whom he cherishes every moment.
