Nashville, Tenn. (October 9, 2023) — Ray Stevens strikes again! Country music’s most notorious funnyman has another viral hit on his hands with “Since Bubba Changed His Name to Charlene.” The music video, which parodies men competing in women’s swimming competitions, was released via Stevens’ X account (formerly Twitter) last Thursday. In just over 48 hours, it surpassed one million views.
“In this crazy world we’re living in, everyone needs a good laugh,” explains Stevens. “I am overwhelmed with the positive feedback, but I’m sure it will ruffle a few feathers.”
